DAY SIX

Sorry for delay in posting our first blog from Tuum - a slight technical hitch, but thankfully we've sorted the problem, so here goes:-

We are all well and survived the long journey-not for the faint hearted! Angelina is looking after us so well we will probably have put on weight before we come home!

We are now on day 3 of the junior camp where we are teaching the children about Moses in the morning and Jesus in the evening. It's going really well- about 150 children from local villages who sleep on site, in bunks, and are given meals, and many who come in from Tuum also. They listen and respond really well to the stories and really enjoy the craft and games. They are also learning some new Norn Iron lingo from Jacqui, Pete and Suzie like 'whats the craic'and 'any banter?!'

On the first evening about 40 children came up to the front for prayer-amazing and very emotional. Please pray that the holy spirit continues to work in these young lives as its the only hope for this area and the evil tribal practices which still continue.

Yesterday we walked up to a local cluster of 'manyattas' which are the samburu homes and got to take photos inside. This was a real privilige which was only possible because the Kenyan leaders negotiated on our behalf, as the ladies were frightened of our cameras at first, but then really enjoyed posing!

Tyrell and D.C are away today with Stephen to visit Seren where Julius (who currently works here) is moving to work in that area.

  1. We're all so jealous of the experience you're having. So glad to hear that all is well and that God continues to work in all your hearts to help you do his work in Tuum.

Contrary to previous comments you may have read on the blog I'm starving and haven't eaten in six days now. The food parcels didn't arrive and enquiries reveal they were dropped at Mill Hill for everyone - enough said as to where they've gone!

Rev Phil received a lovely soppy txt message from Elaine today using SC's Sat phone, to wish him a Happy Anniversary - 40th is it? You married a very young woman!

God Bless Team Tuum 2010 Keep the messages coming.

  2. Great to hear from TT again! Lovely to read how missionary work is progressing for you outside of your own home town. This moment in time a blessing to those who visit and to those being visited.

    "We cannot do great things...
only small things with great love'

Mr Brian is indeed unrecognizable, a shadow of his former self. Six days without food has taken its toll. Rev Phil however continues to praise indeed the ongoing work the Red Cross. One clearly enjoying the abundance and one evidently not. The PW ladies have kindly offered to take both men shopping for new clothes this Saturday.

Love and Prayers for you all as you continue on in this journey of faith and experience. To Stephen and Angelina as they continue to share their everyday life and experiences with you all.

Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. Jude 1:2
